Project Overview
This project started with a question we kept coming back to: can a home this large still feel warm? The architecture set the stage — two-story smart glass, clean geometry, the Encino hills as the backdrop — and every interior decision was made in response to that. Japanese spatial thinking guided the approach: materials that earn their place, nothing added just for the sake of it. Natural stone, walnut, and white oak floors run continuously through every level. The floating staircase in the foyer is the moment you understand what the house is.Project Narrative
Each space has its own material moment, but they all speak the same language. The kitchen runs on double islands and fully concealed refrigeration — it looks effortless because a lot went into making it that way. The travertine fireplace gives the family room the weight and warmth a space this architectural needs. In the primary bath, ocean blue travertine slab shifts the mood entirely — quieter, almost aquatic, a real departure from the rest of the house and exactly right for it. Pocketed doors open the back of the home to the outdoor lounge and pool, and alabaster pendants with brass accents carry through to the last room. For a house this size, it never once feels that way.
