Project Overview
This Encino backyard was redesigned as a fully functional outdoor living environment, organized into distinct zones without losing its cohesion. The geometric pool sits as the visual anchor, positioned to be seen from the main living areas of the home, with surrounding hardscape patterns scaled to complement the architecture. A fully outfitted BBQ island handles serious outdoor cooking, while the fire pit lounge area gives the space a different energy after dark. Each element was detailed to hold up under daily use without sacrificing the clean, modern aesthetic.The overall design language is consistent throughout: sharp lines, natural materials, and a layout that makes the space feel larger than its 3,000 square feet. Nothing is decorative for its own sake. The covered areas, material transitions, and built-in seating all serve a purpose, resulting in a backyard that works as hard as it looks good.
